Human Problem Solving

In reading an article on the problem solving techniques I found some pretty interesting information.  When it comes to problem solving we act differntly according to that particular situation. Information processing theory I found to intersting being that it concentrates on how the process of problem solving is carried out and how it is done (Newell & Simon 2005). The information processing system is broken down by varying memory; like the Long term memory that has the ability to store a massive amount of information.  then you have the Short term memory that stores a limited amount of information. These memories in the brain helps us to be able to evaluate the problem using our LTM or STM to come up with the information needed to process the problem. As people we look at problem solving in varying ways.  The way I may solve a problem would be differnt in the way that someone else may solve a problem.  That comes along with our experiences.

Blogs that I may follow

I am not to sure that I have really found any blog that I would follow.  I have been out of the workforce for approximately 2 years...so I have found it hard to find a blog that fits what I am doing right now and my class.

I found the first blog which is: http://usablelearning.wordpress.com/blog/.

The Usable Learning Blog
I found this blog and it caught my attention. This blog seems to be easy on the eyes and I believe that it is searchable. On this blog I found that it has various topics to follow and to jump into read and to learn as you go. I will see where it goes and how often people come on to find out if it is really a good site.

The second blog that I came across is: http://www.creativityatwork.com/blog/

Creativity at Work Blog
Another blog I have found is Creativity at Work blog. This blog was really not that connected with Instructional Design to me but I believe that I can use some of the things that they are addressing to help in training and improvement of an organization. This website discussing the ideal of creativity and workplace wellness and how the brain and creativity go together. I have never thought about creativity and the workplace let alone creating wellness in the workplace.

The final blog that I have looked into is: http://blog.cathy-moore.com/

The Cathy Moore blog was sort of interesting. I enjoyed the blog about mapping in changing your design process, pack with a good amount of information. My only concern with this site is that it doesn’t seem like it is being updated.
I have had a hard time trying to find blogs that I fit in with, but I will try the ones that I have mentioned. My only problem that I have had with the varying blogs that I have researched, is that they are not being updated on a regular.  This is a problem for the people that are learning and what to go further.
